Our History

Officially born in September of 2016, BeneFix is the brain-child of Lancaster, Pennsylvania native Matthew Ranauro. The innovative BeneFix platform was created as a simple solution to fix the oh-so complicated process of enrolling in health insurance. When Matt moved back to Lancaster he had a difficult time switching his former company’s health insurance coverage. The process was tedious and time-consuming. And so, Matt created BeneFix, a way to make quoting and enrollment simple.

Founder's Story

Total frustration sparked the beginning of BeneFix. After all, every great idea begins with a problem to solve.

Ours? Creating a simple solution for enrolling in health insurance. The old process turns out to be super complicated and quite frankly, outdated.

This was a personal pain point of our founder, Matt Ranauro. After moving from Colorado to Pennsylvania he had to wait months to enroll in benefits for his company. Why was the wait so long?

After some digging, Matt found his answer. The health insurance industry is stuck in a paper-driven world. Brokers were running quotes for their clients through each individual carrier and creating proposals manually in spreadsheets. Matt saw the value in the broker but knew they needed an alternative to their current system to streamline the process and get them out of their paper driven past. BeneFix was born.
